Does Anyone Else.....

OK.  So I came to terms long ago with the fact that I'm a little neurotic.
Ok I'm a lot neureotic.
Neat right?  NO!!

And I have OCD.

But every once in a while.  I find myself doing something and I think, "I can't be the only person who does this."  I mean none of them are excessivly crazy and some I think are just common sense.

Here's a few examples.

If you do ANY of these things as well please let me know.  Also if you have any other quirks that you would like to share feel free.  Just keep in mind that I may adopt those quirks as my own.

Better!!!
1.  Clearing left over time on the microwave.  I can't NOT do this.
I do it at the office multiple times a day.  I do it at my parents house.  I do it at my friends houses.  It drives me CRAZY.

2. I HAVE to put colour co-ordinated kleenex boxes in each room.  I mean seriously, they need to match the decor.

3. Folding and re-folding things.  I will re-fold something like 3 times till I get it right.  Even if it's a pair of socks, if it's not done properly I can't bear to put it in the drawer that way.

4. Staying to the right.  Ok I'm a pedestrian.  And in a crowded city, it drives me nuts when other pedestrians are just walking along all willy nilly in the opposite direction bumping into people.  This especially goes for stairs.  I mean don't you just LOVE it when there's one person pushing through a group of people while moving against traffic?

5. Counting stairs.  I don't know why I do this and I don't do it EVERY time but I have a habit of counting the stairs as I climb them.

Please don't have me committed.  I'm a perfectly safe crazy person!

  1. ITV had a program on last night called OCD cleaners. Made me think of you.
There was a man that growled when the things were not lined up in the cupboard properly which is me.
Anyway they sent these people into other peoples homes to help sort them out. It was think therapy for both side but you could see it was harder on some than others. The ones with real OCD and the ones that just like to be overly clean indoors.

    1. OMG I'd go crazy trying to organize someone else's home.

  2. I don't do all of the things you're talking about, but I definitely need one of those sock organizers!!

    1. I know isn't it awesome? I admit to re-organizing my sock drawer all the time. Usually at 2am when I'm in full raging insomnia mode.

  3. Yep. #1 and #3 for sure. And walking on the right is just what's NORMAL!!! I have a microfiber couch and a lot of times I have to rub the fabric until there are no lines in it and all the fibers are going in the same direction. When I can't sleep, I go through my small stack of mail I have hoping I'll be able to throw something else out.

    1. OMG come on, I can't be the ONLY person that color co-ordinates their kleenex boxes with their decor. Can I?

I have these suede throw pillows and I do the same thing all the time.

  4. I'm all kinds of neurotic, but not about cleaning. Oh. EXCEPT towel folding. My husband doesn't even try anymore because I may or may not have given him a stern talking to about his lackluster skills...

    1. Damn forgot about the towels. DO you get all squirrely when the towels in the linen closet aren't all facing the same direction? Because OMG.

  5. I do the microwave thing, and I also have to stop it on even numbers before clearing it. I also need the volume level on things to be on even numbers. ;)

I only WISH my sock drawer looked like that, though. It's a mess!

    1. Oh I do the volume thing too. I don't have to stop it on even numbers but I clear it fast. I will heat things up on even numbers. Like I'll do 15 or 20 seconds, never 17 or some random crap like that.

  6. Coordinating Kleenex!? YES! Me too!

    And the microwave thing.

I don't have an organized sock drawer, but I roll all of my tank tops and tee shirts and leggings and order them by color.

And counting stairs. I count when going down. But that's so I don't fall. If I don't count, I always miss the last step. OH! I'm so adding that to today's blog post.

    1. WOO HOO. FINALLY. SOMEONE ELSE WHO CO-ORDINATES KLEENEX BOXES!!!

I count stairs going up and down, like magically one day there's going to be more than i'm used to. It's insane.

      Love ya.

  7. Damn you! Now I'm going to start counting stairs. I have to buy products in threes.

    1. Sorry! It's a horrible habit. But it's not like if I lose count I have to go back and start again or anything. I just randomly catch myself doing it.

  8. Yep. #1, #3 (to a degree), and definitely #4. It drives me nuts when I'm at my parents and they never, ever, ever clear the microwave time. How else am I supposed to use it as a clock?!

And #4 is particularly relevant in the mall. Come on, people!

    1. #4 is big for me with public transit. Thousands of people are walking through the train stations and there's always that handful of assholes that walk against the flow of traffic.

  9. I am all about the microwave time...I hate when you can't clear your time and I like it to be on zero when I use it. Also the kleenex as well. I also have 3 closets and they are all color coordinated and everything in my apartment has a place. As for the socks, bras and undies....I used to work at Victoria's Secret and I will never again fold those after that job :) I also haev this thing where I to put everything back in its place before I go to bed. It used to drive my old roommate crazy because she said I didn't know how to just sit down and relax... I do I just like things to be tidy before I do is all and it helps me figure out if she ever went threw my stuff or used things I asked her not too...now that is some serious OCD

    1. A friend of mine can't go to sleep till everything in the kitchen is cleaned and put away. Like if the dishes are washed but sitting in the drying rack she will actually toss and turn till they are put away. I'm not THAT bad but I can appreciate it.

    2. I am not that bad with dishes...I can actually let them sit in the sink over night but only one night. But my couch has 6 throw pillows and they all have to be perfectly allined before bed. Plus i habve this thing where everything has to be an even number...odd ones throw me off or I feel bring bad luck!! LMAO I never realized how bad I am

    3. I can leave them overnight too and it doesn't but me. But when they're put away it needs to be a certain way.

I know!! every time I do a post about having OCD I realize I have more quirks than I thought.

    4. Yes I am the same way with how the dishes get put away and loading it...oh we won't even go there.

  10. 1 and 4. And, I have to eat M&Ms in 3s and the colors have to be evenly dispersed between "batches." It's ridiculous. I wish I was OCD about cleaning.

    1. I am the same way with MM's or with skittles

    2. See I eat everything in 2's. In the original post I did about this I broke down how I eat M&M's. I organize them by color, eat the odd one's till there are the same number of each color and then eat them basically in rainbow ascending order, yellow first, then orange, then red etc. It's crazy, I know.
